The ground rules
Terms of use
What Saffa Hub offers today, and what we ask of you when you use it.
Draft terms — review before public launch
These draft terms describe the site as it works today. The site owner should review them, and add the legal identity and contact details marked as to be confirmed, before promoting the site publicly.
About this service
The Ultimate Saffa Hub — Home & Away is a community and discovery website for South Africans in the UK. It is being actively developed. Features may change, pause or be removed, and the site may be unavailable at times. We provide it as it is, without any promise that it will be complete, uninterrupted or error free.
Saffa Hub is free to use. There are no paid plans, adverts or purchases on the site today, and we do not take payments.
Sample and demonstration content
While we build the site, some listings, events, fixtures, guides, destinations and stories are sample or demonstration content created to show how a feature works. These are labelled as sample or demo. They do not describe real businesses, real events or confirmed fixtures, and you should not rely on them or contact anyone based on them.
Accounts
You need an account to save items, plan trips, submit a business or event, or claim a listing. Keep your sign-in details secure and do not let anyone else use your account. You are responsible for what happens under it. You can ask us to close your account at any time.
Submitting businesses and events
Anyone with an account can submit a business or event. Nothing is published automatically: a person reviews every submission, and we may approve, edit for clarity, reject or later remove anything. Approving a listing is not a recommendation, an endorsement or a check of quality, and it does not verify that a business is what it says it is.
Claiming a listing is also reviewed manually. An approved claim lets you manage that listing; it does not mark the business as verified.
When you submit something, you confirm that the information is accurate as far as you know, that you are entitled to share it, and that publishing it will not break anyone else’s rights or the law.
Saved items and trips
Saved businesses, events, destinations and guides, and any trips you plan, are stored against your account and shown in My Saffa Hub. They are for your own use. We may change or reset these features while the site is being developed.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- post anything unlawful, abusive, hateful, harassing, misleading or deliberately false;
- submit listings, events or claims for businesses you have no connection to, or that do not exist;
- upload other people’s personal information without their permission;
- send spam or use the site to advertise unrelated services; or
- scrape, overload, probe or otherwise interfere with the site or its security.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
Content and intellectual property
The Saffa Hub name, design, written pages and images belong to us or our licensors. You keep ownership of anything you submit. By submitting content you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, edit for length or clarity, and share it on the site for the purpose of running Saffa Hub. You can ask us to remove your content, and we will do so unless we need to keep it for legal reasons.
Third-party links
The site links to other websites — radio broadcasters, business websites, ticket pages and travel information. Those sites are not ours, we do not control them, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Saffa Hub does not stream or rebroadcast radio; radio links open the broadcaster’s own site.
Information is not advice
Guides and travel, visa, shipping, money and fixture information are general information only, not professional advice, and may be out of date. Always check anything important with an official source before you act on it.
Our responsibility
We do our best to keep the site accurate and available, but we are not liable for loss caused by relying on information here, by dealings with a business or event organiser listed here, or by the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the site develops. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current version. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions about them can go to [Saffa Hub contact email — TO BE CONFIRMED]; see the contact page. Privacy is covered in our privacy notice.
